Nepalese pop star Prem Raja Mahat, the pioneering women of The Roc-a-Jets, and an air travel confession from Ami Spencer...    Before Nepalese immigrant Prem Raja Mahat came to the US and opened up a restaurant in Baltimore, he was a pop-music sensation in India.  Aaron Henkin shares the story of Prem’s path from Nepalese superstar to American Everyman.    The Roc-A-Jets sported pompadours and they made the ladies swoon… but these rockabilly idols weren’t guys.

A Portrait of MICA's Next President

Tom Hall talks to MICA's next president, Samuel Hoi.

The Maryland Institute College of Art announced yesterday that Samuel Hoi will become the new president of the acclaimed art school in July.  Mr. Hoi has been the President of the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles since 2000. 

Hoi will succeed Fred Lazarus, IV, who has held the reins at MICA for the past 36 years.  Samuel Hoi joins Tom Hall on the phone from Los Angeles.
