The Time Roosevelt's Funeral Train Chugged Through Baltimore

When President Franklin Delano Roosevelt died in 1945, his funeral train passed through Baltimore's Penn Station - but only a few people were allowed to stand trackside and bid final farewells.  Among the onlookers was Congressman Thomas D'Alesandro, Jr and 12-year-old Franklin Delano Roosevelt D'Alesandro.

When Will You Be Able To Get Medical Marijuana In Maryland?

Sheilah Kast talks about medical marijuana with Delegate Cheryl Glenn, Maryland Medical Marijuana Commission Chair Paul Davies, and pharmacology researcher Ryan Vandrey.
Twenty states and the District of Columbia, have medical marijuana programs. Patients can either buy or grow marijuana for things like pain relief. The General Assembly took a first, cautious stab at creating a medical marijuana program last year. Marijuana was to be made available through academic medical centers. But, none of the centers in Maryland signed up to participate. Legislators decided this past session to allow certified doctors to write prescriptions for medical marijuana that can be bought from licensed growers and dispensaries.

Vacation Homes - 4/11/14

The vacation home is making a comeback.  Thanks in large measure to a surging stock market, Americans with discretionary spending power are increasingly looking for opportunities in the market for second or third homes.  Vacation properties accounted for 13 percent of all sales last year, the highest level since 2006 when the share was 14 percent according to the National Association of Realtors.
