Writer Jen Grow has just published her first book, a collection of short stories called "My Life as a Mermaid, and Other Stories". Grow introduces us to a quirky array of compelling characters with grace, compassion and a trenchant wit. Tom Hall talks with her about the book, which won the 2012 Dzanc Books Short Story Competition.
Jen Grow will be discussing her book at The Ivy Bookshopin North Baltimore on Tuesday, June 16, at 7. She will also be in Columbia at Oliver’s Carriage House on Saturday June 13, for the launch of the Little Patuxent Review’s summer issue. Jen is the Fiction Editor of the Review. She will be reading a bit from her short story collection at that event.
