Baltimore’s police commissioner is out; there’s a new interim commissioner.  What is the way forward to stop violent crime in the city? We talk with Heber Brown III, a community leader and pastor of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church.

Then – the Confederate banner is coming down at South Carolina’s capital.  What about Confederate memorials and symbols in Maryland?  We talk with two professors about public memory, reconciliation, and the graffiti scrawled on the Lee-Jackson monument in Wyman Park.  Kaye Whitehead: This act of defacing these memorials is focusing the attention on whether these memorials should continue to stand and should they stand with the names that are attached to them.

Plus: Guitarist Rich Barry plays all types of music; he talks with Tom Hall about the art of the classical guitar.
