The Burning Shore

Summer tourists to the Delaware shore have probably seen old concrete watch towers near some of the beaches there. Today we'll learn about why they were built -- to watch for the German submarines on the East Coast during World War II. Our guest: Military journalist Ed Offley, who has chronicled the German U-boat campaign and the toll it took of ships, cargo and human life along the eastern seaboard, from New Jersey to North Carolina.
