Costs Of Incarceration; Poetry And Medicine; Theater Review, "Rabbit Hole"; Terps Basketball

Matt Purdy

A new study finds that more people from Baltimore's Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood are incarcerated in Maryland state prisons than from any other census tract in the state. We visit two ex-offenders there who are working to change that statistic.

Then, part-neurosurgeon, part-brain scientist and part-poet: Michael Salcman talks with Tom Hall about a new anthology of poems he’s edited that connect poetry and medicine.

Plus, theater critic J. Wynn Rousuck brings us her review of the Vagabond Players’ production of “Rabbit Hole” by David Lindsay-Abaire.

And, the University of Maryland’s men’s and women’s basketball teams have had terrific seasons in their first year in the Big Ten. We talk with a couple of sports reporters from the school’s newspaper, The Diamondback, about how the Terps have done it.
