The choreographer, writer and teacher Liz Lerman is Tom Hall's guest this morning.

Last week, she premiered her latest theatrical dance piece, "Healing Wars," which is an examination of how healers deal with the wounds of battle.

The production is part of a larger, national project that pairs performing arts organizations with academic institutions across the country. You can learn more about it here.

"Healing Wars" is at Arena Stage in Washington until June 29th.  Tonight’s show is sold out, but you can catch it beginning Friday, for the next couple of weeks. For more information on the event and purchasing tickets, click here.

You can see a video of a project Lerman presented last month: Appalachian Spring performed by University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra: Music and Movement. In April, she spoke with Hall about putting the performance together.

Audio for this segment will be available by the end of the day.
