Last winter’s “Polar Vortex” has unleashed a particularly harsh allergy season, dubbed “The Pollen Vortex.” Baltimore’s asthma-related deaths are almost three times higher than the rest of the state's. Warm-weather injuries are expected to begin popping up in emergency rooms; we’ll hear about some of the most common injuries that occur as a result of spring activity and how to avoid them. Plus, medical graduates have just been matched with hospitals for their residencies; we take a look at that transition and discuss “The July Effect,” the belief that more hospital errors occur as medical school graduates begin residencies.
