Yesterday, Gov. Larry Hogan revealed that he has been diagnosed with a “very aggressive and advanced” non-Hodgkins lymphoma and will begin chemotherapy immediately. Today on Midday, we’ll cover the governor’s announcement and other news from our region.

In the aftermath of the mass shooting in Charleston, many states are moving to end Confederate symbology. Locally, that could mean a renaming of Robert E. Lee Park. And Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake is now president of the US Conference of Mayors. Her first order of business: calling for a national, bipartisan approach to urban problems.We’ll hear from a panel of experts -- Barry Rascovar of Political Maryland; political scientists Max Hilaire; and American Studies professor Kimberly Moffitt.
