The New Era of Music Distribution

Mar 28, 2014

Streaming services Spotify, Pandora, YouTube and iTunes Radio have transformed the music industry by allowing consumers to listen to whatever they want, whenever they want it, at almost no cost.

What does it mean for music producers and musicians trying to make a living? Our guests: Dave Allen, lecturer at the University of Oregon and digital creative director of the Portland-based branding firm, North; Jimmy MacMillan is co-founder of the Baltimore-based Friends Records, a small record label that distributes and promotes local musicians. Also, Time magazine business reporter Victor Luckerson. Original air date 01/09/14
