Sheilah Kast talks with Dr. Robert Gallo, who discovered that HIV causes AIDS 30 years ago.

This week marks 30 years since the announcement that Dr. Robert Gallo discovered that HIV is the cause of AIDS.  Dr. Gallo went on to found the Institute for Human Virology at the University of Maryland Medical School.  

Here, Sheilah Kast talks with Robert Gallo about the progress made since 1984--and the possibility of developing a vaccine.
