The Sixth Extinction

Since its formation more than 4.5 billion years ago, Earth has gone through five waves of extinction, the latest being the extinction of the dinosaurs, which scientists believe was caused by an asteroid. In "The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History," the New Yorker's Elizabeth Kolbert warns of what some scientists are defining as the "Sixth Extinction," which she says is happening now at the hands of mankind.
