Kurt L. Schmoke was appointed as the University of Baltimore’s eighth president as of July 7, 2014. Schmoke served as the mayor of Baltimore from 1987-1999 and was the Baltimore City State’s Attorney from 1982-1987. Prior to joining UB, he was dean of the Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. from 2003-2012. During his tenure as Baltimore’s mayor, Schmoke initiated a number of innovative programs in housing, education, public health and economic development.

Richard P. "Rick" Barth, PhD, MSW, is professor and dean of the University of Maryland School of Social Work. He is a Fellow and President of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare. His bachelors and graduate degrees are from Brown University and the University of California at Berkeley, respectively. He has also served as a chaired professor at UC Berkeley and University of North Carolina. He has authored many books, chapters, and articles on children’s services practice, programs, policy, and research.

Charles Duff is a developer, planner, historian, and President of Jubilee Baltimore, a non-profit group that has rebuilt more than 250 buildings in Baltimore neighborhoods.  He developed City Arts, Baltimore’s first apartment building for artists, in 2010 and is now developing two large projects in the Station North Arts District.  He lectures widely and teaches at Johns Hopkins University.  He is a graduate of Amherst College and Harvard University.

Donald C. Fry has been the president and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC), the central Maryland region's most prominent organization of business and civic leaders, since November 2002.

Under Don’s leadership, the GBC is recognized as a knowledgeable and highly credible business voice in the Baltimore region, Annapolis and Washington, D.C. on policy issues and competitive challenges facing Maryland. Its mission is to apply private-sector leadership to strengthening the business climate and quality of life in the region and state.

Leading one of the fastest growing and largest Y associations in North America, John works with an engaged group of volunteer and staff leaders to promote healthy living, youth development and social responsibility in the region.

Prior to joining the Y as CEO in 2006, John spent the entirety of his professional career in the private sector while volunteering his time in the community.
