BCAN (Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network) has been dedicated to organizing and hosting Walks to End Bladder Cancer for well over a decade. These walk events play a vital role in increasing awareness about bladder cancer, providing essential support to thousands of individuals living with the disease, and generating crucial funds for bladder cancer education programs and research initiatives.These nationwide events have included thousands of walkers in 47 states and have raised more than $6 million to fund BCAN’s vital educational and support programs and services.
Master’s degrees are awarded to the McDaniel College Class of 2024. Tickets are required to attend the ceremony.

Joyce J. Scott: Walk a Mile in My Dreams is a 50-year career retrospective of artist Joyce J. Scott, one of the most significant artists of our time.
Co-organized by the Baltimore Museum of Art and Seattle Art Museum (SAM), this exhibition was developed in close dialogue with the Baltimore-based artist and her collaborators to reveal the full breadth of Scott’s singular vision through more than 120 objects from public and private collections across the United States. The exhibition will feature significant examples of the artist’s sculpture—both stand-alone and wearable pieces—alongside performance footage, garments, prints, and materials from Scott’s personal archive. Joyce J. Scott: Walk a Mile in My Dreams also features a newly commissioned installation and an expansive catalog.
String players ages 12-20 are invited to audition for Young Musicians of Baltimore's 2024-2025 Season. Under the artistic leadership of music directors Doug Jameson and Melissa Hullman, students explore chamber orchestra repertoire ranging from the 17th century to the present day. With regular faculty coaching and individualized feedback, students develop technique in ensemble playing, style, and musical phrasing. Young Musicians of Baltimore is dedicated to developing artistic talent through adventuresome programming, building musical community, and equity and inclusion in the arts. Auditions will be held live on Saturday June 22nd and Saturday August 24th beginning at 10am. There is no fee to audition. Audition information is available at ymobmusic.org.
First Saturdays is a series of free hands-on projects and activities for children held on the first Saturday of each month. This series will feature local community partners showcasing their skills in movement, storytelling, arts, tinkering, and more!
The Highlandtown Train GardenThe train garden is located in Engine House # 41 at 520 S. Conkling St. It will be open from 11am to 5pm on the following weekends: November 25 (Opening Day) and 26, December 2 and 3, December 9 and 10, December 16 and 17, and also December 23 thru January 1 (closed Christmas Day). The Train Garden is open to the public, free, wheelchair accessible and masks are optional. Street parking is available in the area. This outdoor event occurs the third Saturday of each month, May through October, weather permitting.
Whiskey on the Waterfront is free and family friendly. We encourage guests to bring blankets and chairs for the waterfront lawn. A limited number of picnic tables and Adirondack chairs are available. No outside alcohol or coolers are permitted. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
Our tour is the full experience. Over 90 minutes, you’ll learn about the history of Rye Whiskey in Maryland, how (and why!) BSC first started, and where we fit in the pantheon of Maryland Rye distilleries. You’ll get a full production tour, learn about pot distillation, and learn the nuance of blending barrels. Finally, for the main event, you’ll try 4 different barrel finishes of Epoch Rye, and blend them the way you want into your own custom bottle for you to take home.
