Enjoy the works of Alexis Ibry and Zachary Diaz.
Alexis Irby collects physical evidence of places and moments, bringing them together into a constellation of disparate memories. Her sculptures encourage a sense of absurdity by documenting aspects of reality in ambiguous combinations. She highlights the interconnectedness of the physical world and the encompassing layers we cannot fully perceive in her exhibit Manifesting the Unheard Layers of Reality.
Zachary Diaz presents MOTUS an interplay of color, movement, and texture through large-scale oil paintings, drawings, and monotypes by blending intuition and intention. The artworks emerge as intuitive puzzles, balancing spontaneous marks with deliberate layering to evoke emotional responses. With a classical training foundation and heavy influence of abstract expressionist techniques, Diaz’s work uncovers hidden narratives with seemingly simple marks.

Chart-topping and multi-platinum selling saxophonist Kim Waters, one of the premiere architects and reigning kings of Contemporary Jazz, has written the soundtrack for the lives of generations of fans during his illustrious three-and-a-half decade career. His instantly recognizable and gorgeous tone, captivating melodies, insatiable grooves and irresistible fusion of Jazz, R&B, Blues and Pop, have catapulted him to the top of the charts time and time again. The Maryland-born and Georgia-based saxman has performed with everyone from Al Green, Isaac Hayes and Patti LaBelle to Phyllis Hyman, Teddy Riley, Guy, and Gerald Albright, to name a few. At the heart of Waters’ music and the real secret to his success, is his undying love affair with music. Kim Waters’ new and 26th solo recording Time 2 Groove (April 11, 2025) is brimming with gorgeous melodies and his superb alto and soprano saxophone playing on mostly original compositions.

2nd Annual Rotunda Rocks Returns to Hampden Neighborhood this Spring
Family-friendly Night of Rockin’ Fun Begins May 3 and Runs Every Friday Until End of September

Whether you like to jam to rock, folk, blues, Indie, Latin or reggae, there is something for everyone as the second annual Rotunda Rocks concert series returns to Hampden this spring/summer (711 W 40th Street). This family-friendly FREE concert series, presented by MCB Real Estate, features live music on the plaza and a street festival atmosphere with delicious local food and drinks, fun games and local vendors on Fridays, 6-9 p.m. beginning May 3 and running until September 27. Put on your favorite green and celebrate Irish culture at the 51st Annual Maryland Irish Festival happening November 7-9, 2025, at the Timonium Fairgrounds. Hours are 6-11 p.m. on Friday, 12 noon – 11 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday from 12 noon - 6 p.m. Presented by Irish Charities of Maryland, the festival features traditional and contemporary Irish music, authentic Irish food and beverages, cultural activities, a kid’s zone and an assortment of vendors, perfect for shopping just before the holiday season begins. The Nevermore Haunt features unique creatures, characters and scenes inspired by late 19th century Baltimore.

Come face-to-face with mangled, undead factory workers, the ghosts of drowned sailors, unlicensed medical practitioners and strange, terrifying monsters inside this historic 140 year-old property in Baltimore’s Old Town.

One of Maryland’s scariest haunted houses and a Baltimore Halloween tradition since 2016, The Nevermore Haunt also features spectacular sideshow performance and an outdoor bar featuring local beers and custom cocktails.

Good intentions collide with absurd assumptions in this biting satire, as a troupe of performatively “woke” thespians scrambles to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Month without any cultural stumbles.

Cruise Control: Black Joy in Turbulent Waters, written and directed by Deletta Gillespie, is featured in Theatre Morgan’s Fall ’25 season, LOL! Laugh to Keep from Crying. LOL! explores the rich, complex tradition of Black humor as a tool of survival, resistance, and truth-telling. Audiences laugh out loud while thinking deeply.

Welcome aboard the MS Sarah Kinson, where history floats, humor sails, and the clapbacks are stronger than the drinks. Cruise Control: Black Joy in Turbulent Waters is not your grandma’s historical drama—unless your grandma likes her history with a side of shade and a splash of rum punch.

Set on a cruise ship that time-travels and reality-bends, this play turns the audience into passengers on an incredible voyage. Your crew? A cast of griots, storytellers, tricksters, singers, dancers, and a cruise director and staff who’ll have you letting loose like a Caribbean uncle at karaoke night while learning how black folks have always found a way to laugh, even as the world tried to sink them.
