To honor a century of service and driving positive change across Greater Baltimore, United Way of Central Maryland will host a Centennial Benefit Concert featuring multi-award-winning artist Common; legendary dance-music vocalist CeCe Peniston; and local artists Elyscia Jefferson of The Voice, Whiskey Feathers, and the Baltimore City College Choir.

For 100 years, United Way of Central Maryland has been a catalyst for long-term, positive change – serving the region through natural disasters, wars, civil unrest, health crises, government shutdowns, and more. The evening of giving back to and celebrating the spirit of our community will feature moving performances, tributes to local changemakers, and more. A portion of each ticket sold supports the expansion of United Way’s work to build stronger lives and neighborhoods in the region.

Washington, DC’s premier showcase for rising stars and comedy icons — returns for its third year this October 10–12 at The Wharf. Named one of USA Today’s “Top 10 New Events” in its debut year, BTF has quickly become a highlight of the city’s cultural calendar.

This year’s lineup features headliners Sommore, the “Queen of Comedy,” and Jay Pharoah, joined by special guests like Tisha Campbell and a wave of emerging stand-up talent. Festival highlights include the flagship Breakout Comedian of the Year Competition hosted by Pharoah, where national finalists compete for a $10,000 grand prize and a shot at Hollywood representation, the Hey Ladies Comedy Experience hosted by Sommore, local comedy showcases, panels, and screenings.

Merkin Fashion Show: Saturday, October 11 | 7 PM to 10 PM
We’re here and we’re queer! Volume 10: Dismantled explores queer identity and community as an exercise of celebration. The friction and chaos of uncertainty has forced dialogue surrounding the tension between dismantling versus assimilating. Bringing together artists from the Bureau of Queer Art and Maryland, spans across geographical and cultural boundaries in an attempt to unify the voices of Queer identifying artists. This exhibition in partnership with the Bureau of Queer Art investigates how through intimacy and vulnerability queerness is ultimately an act of rebellion. Join us in honoring the work of international artists from the United States to Mexico as we obstinately hold space for grief and glitter.
And for those who can’t make it to Baltimore: the exhibition expands online from September 1 to December 1, 2025 on Artsy.net, where the work confronts the global gaze directly. This isn’t digital as afterthought—this is a parallel altar, a demand for visibility on the collector’s platform where so many queer artists remain underrepresented.
Volume 10: Dismantled will serve as the backdrop to the third biennial Merkin Dream Fashion Show in collaboration with Baltimore-based fashion designer Kenn Hall. The third iteration of Merkin Dream Fashion show will continue to expand on themes such as women’s rights, sex work, body image and dysphoria. The exhibition will open on September 11, 2025 during the BROMO ART WALK. Merkin Dream III will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 7 PM to 10 PM.

Featuring members of The Polkats, Mambo Combo and New Potato Caboose, The Stone Hill All-Stars have been producing unique, original music in the Baltimore area for 15 years.

Join the band for a three-album release show at An die Musik Live, commemorating the recent releases of full-length recordings A Crystal of Salt, Wednesday in Winter, and Gray Green.

The band will play selections from each of these albums along with new songs, all featuring their trademark literate lyrics and infectious rhythms.

In-person seats: $15 / $10 students

Towson University takes Anton Chekhov's classic play about love and denial and approaches it in new, unexpected ways. In each of the four acts, the play is adapted in a different manner--from classic realism, to saturnine experimentation, to exuberant musical theatre. This is a new perspective—or four new perspectives—on Chekhov and his work.

Proceeds benefit the TU Foundation.

In this laugh-out-loud comedy, testy, feuding costars Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, and Roy Scheider take center stage as booze flows, egos clash, and tempers flare. The actors pray for an end to the shoot, not knowing it will change their lives forever.

Antonín Dvořák Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95, “From the New World”
Internationally renowned Spanish guitarist Pablo Sainz-Villegas joins the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra to share his passion for classical guitar with his fellow countryman, Maestro José-Luis Novo. This performance offers a rare opportunity to experience the brilliance of two Spanish-born artists in one unforgettable evening. Contemporary Mexican composer Arturo Márquez’s new guitar concerto, written specifically for Sainz-Villegas himself and subtitled “Mystical and Profane,” is a virtuosic and emotional work that won’t disappoint.
The program opens with Venezuelan-American composer Reinaldo Moya’s Polo Romanesco, a contemporary reflection on heritage and innovation, setting the stage for one of classical music’s most beloved symphonies: Dvořák’s “New World” Symphony. Inspired by African American spirituals and Indigenous melodies, Dvořák’s masterpiece captures his impressions of the boundless nature of America’s spirit of discovery and cultural exchange. From its soaring melodies to its poignant longing, the “New World” Symphony stands as a testament to music’s power to transcend borders and generations.

In this captivating adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion by Sarah Rose Kearns, audiences are transported to a world of social intrigue, family drama, and enduring love. Back for its second year, Abbott and the Big Ten Conference are hosting the We Give Blood Drive competition to entice students, alumni, fans, and community members to rally around their Big Ten school to donate blood, save lives, and address the country's ongoing critical blood shortage.

From August 27 to December 5, anyone eligible to donate blood can do so anywhere, anytime in the U.S. to count for their school. The school with the most donations at the end of the competition will receive $1 million to advance student or community health.
