McCormick & Co. opened the doors to its $100 million headquarters Tuesday in Hunt Valley that CEO Lawrence Kurzius hopes will give the company a competitive edge.
The six-story, 350,000-square-foot building houses more than 1,000 employees. It features a glass-walled atrium, along with open, light-filled workspaces, an employee wellness center and a gourmet café showcasing McCormick’s products and flavors.
The 129-year-old spice giant used to have employees spread across four buildings. Now they are all in one place at 24 Schilling Road. There is also a "tech bar" where employees can get help, similar to Apple’s Genius bars. A retail store is also part of the project.
