The Nickel Taphouse, a Mount Washington staple for the past five years, has closed. The restaurant announced the closing in a Facebook post from owner Robbin Haas. Its last day of service was Sunday.
The tavern, which opened in 2013 at 1604 Kelly Ave., specialized in American gastropub fare and also had over 100 craft beers available, according to its website. The city has lost numerous restaurants in the past year and plenty of restaurant real estate is up for sale.
