Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport ranks among the worst airports for holiday travel in the U.S. The ranking comes from a Magnify Money report, which looked at 10 years of flight data from the Department of Transportation to determine the 50 busiest airports in the country during the holiday season.
Researchers looked at flights departing those airports between Dec. 20 and Dec. 31 to find those with the highest percent of on-time and cancelled flights during that period. Data from 2008 to 2017 showed that on average 68 percent of flights leaving BWI Airport during the holidays arrived at their destination on-time — 1.7 percent were cancelled. Out of the 50 busiest airports, BWI ranked No. 10 for most delays, and No. 25 for the most cancellations.
