Ceremony Coffee, Roggenart bakery and a new concept from former Ouzo Bay chef Rey Eugenio are among the vendors coming to the new Whitehall Food Market in Hampden.
The market is part of the revamped historic Whitehall Mill space on Clipper Mill Road, which Terra Nova Ventures has been working to turn into a mixed-use development that already has offices and apartments. The market will share the 18,000-square-foot ground floor of the former flower mill with a private event space. The goal is to open the market in late fall. True Chesapeake Oyster Co., a partnership between the Local Oyster partners Patrick Hudson and Nick Schauman and former Wit & Wisdom chef Zachary Mills, is also set to open next door in 5,000 square feet in the site's original boiler room. David Tufaro, owner of Terra Nova Ventures, said construction started on the restaurant in February and he hopes it will open around Labor Day.
