It's a good time to be a jazz lover in Baltimore. The city's live jazz scene will grow its ranks later this week with the grand opening of Bentley's, a new restaurant in Midtown-Belvedere that aims to host a regular rotation of performers.
The restaurant, which started offering carry-out orders on Monday, will hold a grand opening Friday at 885 N. Howard St. Bentley's is the latest spot offering live jazz to debut in Greater Baltimore. In April, Jazz Master Todd Barkan joined with Chef Robert Wiedmaier to open Keystone Korner, a revival of Barkan's storied West Coast jazz club, in Harbor East. And last spring, restaurateur Steve Wecker opened 18th & 21st, which offers jazz shows six nights a week in Columbia's growing Merriweather District.
