At the Padonia Village Shopping Center, what's old is new again. The 50-year-old suburban shopping center in Cockeysville is the latest retail hub to undergo upgrades as part of an ongoing trend to refresh in the age of e-commerce and home grocery delivery.
First built in 1969, Padonia Village today boasts a new exterior, new lighting and an interior courtyard for community gathering space. Such spaces can also be found at the Hunt Valley Towne Centre and Grand York Plaza nearby. The work is part of an ongoing trend to gussy-up or convert decades-old retail centers to modern space.
