A new brewery is on its way to Baltimore County. Actually, the team behind Abbeywood Brewing has been making beers in the county since forming an eight-member brew club about five years ago.
As the club evolved, the brewers decided to find a space to share their creations with a broader public. The group hopes to lease space for their brewery in the White Marsh, Parkville or Towson area and open a taproom in early 2021. They've already scoped out a few possible locations and plan to have a lease signed early next year. The brewers say Abbeywood – named after Abbeywood Court, where the club used to brew beers out of one member's basement — will take an "innovative" approach to brewing, with offerings like New England-style India Pale Ales, heavily fruited sours and pastry stouts.
