We begin today with an update on what's been going on in the Maryland General Assembly, five weeks away from "sine die," the last day of the 2016 legislative session. WYPR's Annapolis reporter Rachel Baye joins Tom to talk about what the legislature has had to say so far about criminal justice reform, gun legislation, rights for the police, and the right to die.
Then: Vermont Senator and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has put the issues of wealth concentration and Wall Street profits front and center in the Democratic race for the White House. ProPublica reporter Alec MacGillis joins Tom in the studio to talk about his latest investigative article, being co-published this week by ProPublica and The New Yorker magazine, chronicling the evolution of a notorious "carried interest" tax loophole, and how it's become an especially profitable perk for hedge fund and private equity money managers.
Plus: theater critic J. Wynn Rousuck reviews Wild Oats, running now through March 27 at the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company.
