The work of photographer N. Jay Jaffee is on display at UMBC. Tom Hall takes a tour with curator Thomas Beck, who discusses Jaffee's spontaneous style of working.
Jaffee worked in the printing industry as a career, but Beck says it was photography that was his passion. "I suspect when he went out it was to be among people, near the buildings, and it was more spontaneous than [Ansel] Adams would have conceived."
The exhibit is called "N. Jay Jaffee Photographs from Public to Personal, 1947-1997." It's at the Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery at University of Maryland, Baltimore County through March 23rd. More information here.
