Goucher College President Sandy Ungar will step down next month after a 13 year tenure. As we’ve done with many of the cultural leaders in our community, we’ve invited Sandy to the show today to do a kind of “exit interview,” as he moves on to his next chapter. Tom Hall talks with him about the value of a liberal arts education.
Ungar is an experienced and respected journalist and teacher. Before taking the helm at Goucher, he was the head of Voice of America and before that, the dean at American University’s School of Communication. As a print journalist, he’s written for Foreign Policy, The Washington Post, The Atlantic and others, and from 1980-82, he was the award winning host of NPR’s All Things Considered.
Goucher's commencement is on May 23rd. More information here.
