You might drive down Baltimore’s Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard every day and unless there’s a traffic snarl, not give it much thought. Today, on a day when we take time to remember the legacy of Dr. King, we’re taking a look at the Baltimore boulevard that bears his name.
With Sheilah to talk about how the boulevard came to be and how it unites and divides the city is Celeste Chavis, an assistant professor in the Transportation and Urban Infrastructure Studies Department in the Morgan State University School of Engineering. Also, with us is Gerald Neily, a former transportation planner in the Baltimore City Department of Planning.
Gerald Neily has written about MLK Blvd for The Baltimore Brew here and here. The 15th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade down the boulevard takes place at noon today. More details here.
Audio for this segment will be available by the end of the day.
