The Morgan State University Choir came to international prominence when their acclaimed conductor, Nathan Carter, took them around the country and around the world, sharing their unique mix of classical and gospel music, spirituals, jazz, and opera. Eleven years ago, the baton of the Morgan Choir was passed to one of the finest musicians I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with. Dr. Eric Conway is a gifted pianist, conductor, and performer who has taken the choir to even higher heights. They’ve had annual international tours; they’ve appeared at the White House, and they’ve sung with Aretha Franklin for hundreds of thousands of people and the Pope. On Friday night the Morgan Choir will team-up with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for A Gospel Christmas at the Meyerhoff. Dr. Eric Conway joins me in the studio.
