Professor Eddie Glaude, Jr. is the William S. Tod Professor of Religion and African American Studies and the chair of the Department of African American Studies at Princeton University. In his provocative new book, Democracy in Black: How Race Still Enslaves the American Soul, Professor Glaude contends there have been pernicious and longstanding gaps in the political, social and economic opportunities available to African Americans, and he argues for a fundamental transformation of Black Politics, beginning with the current political season. Professor Glaude discussed race and politics with Tom when he visited the Maryland Morning studio last Tuesday (3/15).
