Are students successful because of their brains or because of their grit? Or is it some combination of the two? We speak with Elaine Tuttle Hansen, executive director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, about the concept of grit in learning; KIPP Baltimore school principal Natalia Walter about grading students on grit, and Dale Bittinger, assistant vice-provost at UMBC, about the university's recently launched "House of Grit" campaign to attract new students.
