Ahead of the Supreme Court’s decisions on the fate of the Affordable Care Act and same-sex marriage, we speak to Ian Millhiser, senior fellow at the Center for American Progress and author of “Injustices: The Supreme Court’s History of Comforting the Comfortable and Afflicting the Afflicted.” Looking at the court’s history, Millhiser argues that justices have been able to seize unchecked power and that many of the court’s decisions have been made in favor of the the rich and powerful, without regard for the rights enshrined in the Constitution.
