Out of the Blocks - Station North; and remembering Mike Beresh
The Out of the Blocks documentary series, from Signal producer Aaron Henkin and music producer Wendel Patrick, continues with Baltimore’s Station North neighborhood, featuring Jason Hoylman, Nether, Paula Whaley, Vander Pearson, B Fly, Stephanie Safiatou Edwards, Sankofa African Bazaar, and the Station North Tool Library. This edition of Out of the Blocks was originally commissioned by MICA’s MFA in Curatorial Practice class of 2015 for the exhibition, Locally Sourced, at the Fred Lazarus Center.
Whether it was a great-uncle’s World War II letter, or his own UPS delivery route, Mike Beresh could elevate it with his signature musical touch. The Baltimore singer/songwriter passed away on April 3rd, and we listen back to the music he’s left behind.
