The Orioles new general manager says turning around the ailing team is a process that won’t have any shortcuts.
But he said the team was going to work as fast and smartly as possible to right the ship.
Mike Elias was introduced to Baltimore on Monday at a news conference with John and Louis Angelos, the sons of Orioles majority owner Peter Angelos.
The 35-year-old Elias joins the Orioles after five seasons with the Houston Astros, where he was assistant general manager and helped transform the franchise into one of Major League Baseball's most successful teams since 2015.
The Orioles hired Elias after "extensive and exhaustive interviews" with candidates during the last six weeks, Louis Angelos said.
