A body of a man was found in the Patapsco River Tuesday across the Baltimore County line from Howard County following a devastating flood Sunday night in Ellicott City.
Howard County Police confirmed that the body of the man belonged to that of Sergeant Eddison Hermond, 39, of the State’s National Guard.
Hermond was last seen the night of the flooding in Ellicott City attempting to rescue a woman and her cat, when he became swept up in the rushing water.
Hermond joined the Army National Guard in 2009. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1996 and served more than a decade on active duty.
