With COVID-19 cases rising, the Maryland State Board of Elections has released instructions on how to vote if you are in the hospital or under quarantine.
The first step: Getting a mail-in ballot. If you have not already requested the ballot, you can find the form on the State Board of Elections’ website or get one from your local board of elections.
You also need to fill out a “Designation of Agent” form, naming the person who will be submitting your ballot for you. You can get this form on the State Board of Elections’ website.
Your agent needs to deliver both forms to your local board of elections, and in return, they will get a ballot packet to give you.
Fill out the ballot, making sure to sign the oath and seal the envelope.
Then your agent needs to submit the completed ballot in a drop box or in person to your local board of elections.
All voters, whether under quarantine or not, need to get their ballots in no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
