The polling site at Oriole Park at Camden Yards had a growing line by 4 p.m., with voters waiting about an hour to cast their ballots. But voters' energy was high, with a mix of excitement and nerves. 

Two drummers beat nearby. One of them, Frank McCraw, said they had been here since 10:30 in the morning to “raise a high vibration on today, send out good energy.” He said they wanted to keep voters from abandoning the long line without casting the ballot. 

Nearby, Shanay Rucker said she is nervous about the election results. 

“I’m nervous about who’s going to represent our country for the next four years,” Rucker said. “I can't even talk right now — that's how nervous I am.”

After voting, Rucker said she plans to pick up Chik-fil-a and go home to tell her 12-year-old daughter that she voted. 

“She's not able to vote, so I'm gonna do this for her too,” Rucker said. “She's the next future.”

Farther back in line, Mimi Debebe said she is excited to vote for Democrat Joe Biden.

“This is a very critical, critical year, and voting is a privilege and a birthright,” Debebe said. “You need to come out, exercise your voice and be counted.”

She said she had been waiting about 30 minutes, with an estimated 20 minutes to go, but she had been expecting a much longer wait.

The polls are open until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Anyone in line tonight at 8 will be allowed to vote.
