Community Colleges

President Obama wants to make two years of college "as free and universal in America as high school today." He wants the federal government to pick up the tab for community college. We'll look at the proposal, and at the state of Maryland's community colleges, with our guests: Kelly Field, reporter for The Chronicle of Higher Education; Bernie Sadusky, head of the Maryland Association of Community Colleges; Kate Hetherington, president of Howard Community College; and Arnold Packer, a former assistant secretary of labor under the Carter administration who thinks students, not colleges, should receive financial support.
