Death with Dignity

Five states allow doctor to assist terminally ill patients in dying — Oregon, Washington, Montana, Vermont and New Mexico. As the Maryland General Assembly considers the issue, we take a look at both sides of the “right to die” debate. Some call it "death with dignity," others see it as "physician-assisted suicide." Our guests: Brandi Alexander, regional campaign manager for the Maryland branch of Compassion & Choices, which supports legislation to allow doctor assistance with death for some patients in Maryland; and Samantha Crane, board member of Not Dead Yet, a disability rights organization that opposes assisted suicide.
