Goucher College Comes to Jessup Prisoners; Oscar Recap; Black Market Poaching On Tilghman Island

Barbara Haddock Taylor/Baltimore Sun

In the spring of 2014, Tom Hall sat in on a couple of unusual college classrooms. Goucher college professors travel to Maryland prisons in Jessup to teach courses to inmates. They are looking for volunteers to tutor students. You can find out more at their website

Then, we welcome back theMaryland Film Festival’s Jed Dietz and Washington Post film critic Ann Hornaday to recap the Oscar winners and tell us about some other movies they’re keeping an eye on.

Plus, a scheme by several Tilghman Island watermen to poach a half-million-dollars’ worth of striped bass from the Chesapeake Bay shows the tension between the waterman and the regulators of Maryland’s seafood harvest. We talk with Baltimore Sun journalist and filmmaker Catherine Rentz who has been covering the case.
