Maryland's primary election is June 24 and leading up to it, we've been talking to the major Democratic and Republican candidates for Governor and the Democratic candidates for Attorney General.

On Monday we heard from Delegate Aisha Braveboy and today we'll hear from Delegate Jon Cardin, a Democrat who represents Northwest Baltimore County's 11th District.

He has been a member of the House of Delegates since 2003, and is a member of the Ways and Means Committee.

He has a law office in Baltimore, and represents clients in civil and criminal courts.

In this interview, Del. Cardin joins Sheilah Kast in the studio.

Del. Cardin is one of three Democrats running for their party’s nomination for attorney general. We’ll speak with State Senator Brian Frosh on Friday.

In the general election in the fall, the winner will face Republican Jeffrey Pritzker, a Towson lawyer.  He has no primary opposition.

The three Democrats will debate one another next Monday, May 19, at the University of Maryland, College Park.
