Nursing and the Media

Nurses are at the forefront of patient care, a fact that has never been more evident than with the ongoing Ebola crisis. The shortage of nurses -- and the demand for them as baby boomers age -- has been well-documented. Local authors and advocates Sandy and Harry Jacobs Summers claim that media stereotypes about nursing are part of the reason people are discouraged from joining the profession.
