Feb 18, 2015

Despite overwhelming push-back from Republicans, the Obama administration is expected to move forward today with an executive order allowing parents of children with legal status to stay in the country for up to three years. The measure could affect up to 55,000 people living in Maryland. Guests: John Fritze, Baltimore Sun Washington correspondent; Gustavo Torres, executive director of the immigration advocacy group CASA de MarylandElizabeth Alex, lead Baltimore organizer for CASA de Maryland; and Ira Mehlman, spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, which wants tighter border control measures and an end to illegal immigration.

President Obama's executive actions on immigration include plans to expand deferred deportation for children brought to the US by their parents.
