The Open Society Institute named eleven Baltimore fellows this year, awarding each a $60,000 grant to fund revitalization and outreach efforts. In this hour we hear from six fellows about their plans for improving city life, including one project to launch a career-focused curriculum for post-release female offenders and another to create a path to homeownership for undocumented tax-paying Latino immigrants.
To hear from the rest of the Open Society Institute Baltimore fellows, listen to Part Two here. In that hour we meet fellows whose diverse ideas range from establishing community gardens to creating transitional housing for men returning from prison.
