Road Dogs; Heriosm of Different Stripes; Extra Alive

Transcontinental touring musicians (with day jobs) Elias Schutzman and Lazlo Lee; stories of heroism from Lisa Van Wormer, Rich Blake, and Liz McAlister; and Brooke Johnson's "Extra Alive"

Have you ever heard the expression, ‘Road Dogs’?  It’s what they call long-haul truckers.  It’s also what they call touring musicians.  The difference, though?  When a trucker gets home, he takes a nap.  When a musician gets home, he goes back to his day job.  Elias Schutzman, of The Flying Eyes, is a road-dog of the latter variety, and he brings us this profile of fellow touring musician, Lazlo Lee, of Lazlo Lee and the Motherless Children.

President John F Kennedy once said:  The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it. And one path we shall never choose is the path of surrender, or submission.  He also said:  Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.  American heroism takes many forms, and in this segment of our program, we turn our attention to three stories of bravery.  We hear first from former US army soldier Lisa Van Wormer.  Second, we hear the story of former US Marine Sergeant Rich Blake.  And finally, we hear from anti-war activist and nonviolent resister Liz McAlister of Jonah House.
