Sen. Cory Booker's "United" Explores Challenge Of Finding Common Ground in Politics

Kelly Campbell

Senator Cory Booker is the first African American to represent New Jersey in the U. S. Senate. Elected in 2013, the outspoken Democrat and former mayor of Newark is one of only nine African Americans to have ever served in the Senate.

In his new book, United: Thoughts on Finding Common Ground and Advancing the Common Good, Booker blends an inspiring personal and political memoir with a compelling call for a more compassionate and committed national ethos.

Booker talks with Tom about why he believes Americans must rise above partisan division to solve the country's pressing problems.

Senator Booker will be speaking at the Writers LIVE Series at the Enoch Pratt Library on Cathedral Street Tuesday night (2/23) at 7:30.

Audio of this segment will be available by noon today.

Host, Midday (M-F 12:00-1:00)
